Job Corps is a federally-funded residential training program for poverty-level youth between the ages of 16-24.  We offer GED or high school diploma and skills in 125 different trades.

Missouri Division of Workforce Development

Services provided to job seekers by the Division of Workforce Development include assistance with registration in our job matching system, finding job openings, getting referrals to job and training opportunities, obtaining labor market information or learning how and where to seek employment on their own.  Workforce Development offices are located in Missouri Career Centers which are equipped with personal computers with word processing, resume making and internet access.  Also included are fax machines, telephones and newspapers to be used for job searching.  Veteran applicants will find staff trained specifically to assist them with needs that may be related to their veteran status.  Workforce Development staff also assist employers by entering their job orders in our GreatHires.org job matching system, selecting applicants, and making referrals to the posted job orders.  They also assist employers in finding qualified staff by doing some skill testing.  Last, but certainly not least, we assist employers in learning how to use the GreatHires.org system themselves, so they can do their own searches for qualified applicants.

Missouri DESE Division of Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation assists individuals with physical and/or mental impairments to obtain employment.  Possible services include:  assessments, evaluation, guidance, physical restoration services, assistive devices, training costs, job placement and referral.  Each case is reviewed individually by a counselor, who coordinates eligibility determination and case services.

NEMO Workforce Investment Board

The NEMO (Northeast Missouri) Workforce Investment Board acts as an oversight and coordinating agent for a sixteen county area known as the Northeast Missouri Workforce Investment Region. The board in coordination with area Chief Local Elected Officials has the responsibility to spearhead a partnership targeted with improving and enhancing the readiness of the area's workforce which will support area economic development and competition in the global economy of the 21st century. 
Services to Individuals:
Individuals who want to explore and pursue career and training opportunities use the one-stop system. Customers can identify labor markets and determine qualifications for jobs. Individuals entering a career center can receive assistance in creating and entering their resume, learning about job openings, conducting a job search using career center resources, registering for a new job training or educational program, or registering for unemployment services.
Services to the Employer:
Employers may use the services of these centers for new employee referrals, occupational skill interviewing and testing, learning about financial incentives for hiring new workers, or simply access potential employees registered at career centers via the Internet. For employers, having these resources together makes it easier for a business to get the word out that it needs employees. The system also helps employers tap into job training resources and other programs to help in job creation, providing information on the opportunities available to receive certain tax incentives and other programs for hiring people from unemployment and welfare rolls, as well as employing individuals with disabilities. The NEMO (Northeast Missouri) Workforce Investment Board services the northeast region of Missouri for the Division of Workforce Development. The Northeast Workforce Investment Region which encompasses sixteen counties (8649 Sq. miles), has four Career Centers and two Satellite Career Centers.
